Smoked Potato Recipe

Smoked Potato

Smoked potatoes are the perfect side dish for times you already have the smoker fired up and smoking meat.

  • hickory wood chips
  • 1 large russet potato
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 pinch kosher salt, or to taste

  1. Preheat a smoker to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C). Add wood chips according to manufacturer's instructions.
  2. Using a fork, pierce holes on all sides of the potato. The more holes, the smokier the flavor. Rub oil on all sides of the potato and sprinkle with salt.
  3. Place potato directly on the smoker rack and cook for 3 1/2 hours
