Description
This rice made with onion, orzo, and chicken bouillon, then seasoned with garlic salt and turmeric is a copycat version of a famous treat.
Ingredients
- 1 cup rice
- 3 tablespoons orzo
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons minced onion
- 2 ½ cups water
- 1 tablespoon chicken bouillon
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon garlic salt
- ⅛ teaspoon ground turmeric
Instructions
- Combine rice, orzo, butter, and onion together in a pot over medium heat; cook and stir until light brown, about 3 minutes. Add water, chicken bouillon, onion powder, garlic salt, and ground turmeric; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and cover. Simmer until liquid is absorbed and rice is tender, 15 to 20 minutes.
